Wonder Woman is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter and first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in December 1941. Wonder Woman is the alter ego of Diana, princess of the Amazons, a race of warrior women living on the secluded island of Themyscira. Diana was chosen to be the champion of the Amazons and given superhuman powers by the gods of Olympus. She left Themyscira to fight crime and promote peace in the outside world. Wonder Woman is a founding member of the Justice League and has been featured in numerous comic books, television shows, and films. She is one of the most popular and iconic superheroes in the world.
